hello all, been for a walk and noticed a farm entrance at cae enion farm that's having a make over, now the two pillars at the entrance look very familiar, the occupant is in the demolition game and his specialty is demolishing churches,is this off rehoboth chapel,if you go to street view onto hall lane from rhosllanerchrugog first farm on the left,or 53.014259-3.0670484 is there a bigger photograph on our site to compare,it looks like the pillars are the ones on both sides of rehoboth chapel higher up ether side of roof area.

The tops of the pillars look like they could have come from a column grave stone This picture shows my great grandparents gravestone that used to stand near the side gate entrance to Rehoboth. The base was moved to Coedpoeth Cemetery. Attachments:

hello, more info on cae enion farm, managed to have a few words with the gentleman who carried out the demolition of Rehoboth and confirmed that they where the stone pillars above the entrance to the church, which took 2 days to remove, 2 slabs from just inside the entrance of the church where sent away to be dressed and inscribed CAE ENION FARM, they can be seen embedded on either side of this grand entrance, a few of the slabs again dressed are used as coping stones, some of the structural stones have been used to erect a wall and many more are stacked ready for use, the stone slab inscribed w w wynn bart august 1894 was removed from a church in cefn mawr. it's nice to see that he has taken the trouble to keep these artefacts and let it be known where they came from rather be smashed up and used as hard core never to be seen again, well the words phoenix and ashes springs to mind.

You are right Ago, from these two pics they seem to be the ones at the top of the chapel. As you say- at least they have gone to good use. Well spotted ! Attachments:
