An email received from J.Hughes... Hi, Whilst passing through, - looking for possible information on a WW1 soldier from Coedpoeth, I read through your transcripts of Trade Directories for the area and saw a reference to a Coed Poeth clockmaker called Williams, and I suddenly remembered many years ago watching an episode of an American Detective series on TV (possibly on BBC2?) called "Ellery Queen" starring Jim Hutton (see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellery_Queen_(TV_series) ) and noticed an old clock behind one of the characters with the name "Williams Coedpoeth" written clearly on the dial! - unfortunately, I can't remember which episode it was (sorry!). Just thought I'd pass the information on to someone who might be interested, - might be worth further investigation?]. Regards, J Hughes

I have a Grandfather clock marked 'Williams Coedpoeth'. Its been in the family since new, my great (or even great great) grandfather bought it in the mid 19th C. before the family moved to Manchester.
