Lomondog also found this via google ; James Barlow - Iron Master
Location of the gravestone - St. John the Baptist Church, Chester, Cheshire, England.
The gravestone reads,
"In memory of James Barlow, Iron Master, late of Gwersyllt Iron Works near Wrexham who died 20th November 1856 aged 56"
James Barlow was born in Chirk, Wrexham in about 1800. He resided at the Forge House, Mold Road, Gwersyllt, Wrexham. He inhabited Forge House with his brother, Thomas Barlow, who was also an iron worker
Could be the brother of Thomas.

hi thanks for your interestpierce and eluned ,I have seen the grave stone for james , unusual to put occupation on a headstone .does anybody know about thomas and the red lion inn ? rummer that they may have owned the iron works and went bust ? must have been o.k in 1841 to have so many children and a servant even if she was only 13 yrs old !

Hi I was running a search and landed on this site and post. My Gg grandfather John Marshall Barlow was born at the Red Lion at Abenbury, I actually took my dad and we had a drink in there. They moved to Liverpool mid 1800’s. I was wondering if any of the posters have DNA tested at Ancestry, me and my dad have and we do have Barlow matches. I’ve never been able to go much further back than his Dad Thomas and his parents who I have as James Barlow and Elizabeth Harrison. Would be interesting to hear from anyone with Information. Regards Gill
