Can you help me please.
For one of my ''cousins'' I have been researching for William Roberts the 3rd child of William and Harriett ROBERTS born 1878 in the Coedpoeth area.
He married Charlotte in Conway and they had 4 children. Florence, the youngest b 1910, remembered being quite young when her father died suddenly probably in the Manchester area. We think that we have found his death in July 1913 aged 35.I have searched britishnewspapers for any family announcement without success and wondered if any of you could find any mention of him. It is unlikely that he was buried in Wales.
His eldest daughter Jane Olive ROBERTS b 1900 in Conway died in her mid to late teens. There are a number of girls either Jane or Olive who died in the period 1913 to 1920-mostly in Wales. Again I wonder if any of you can find a mention of her.
William was 35 when he died in July 1913 and Jane Olive about 17. Either death might be described as tragic, or sudden. It would be helpful to have some extra confirmation of the deaths that we have found as ROBERTS is such a popular surname. Then they can apply for the certificates.
Thank you
Sue

You might already know this. I have found tree on Ancestry, and even though two of the children have been followed up , there is no death for William . William Roberts 1877 - Charlotte Olive Davies1873 – 1936 Jane Olive Roberts1900 – Hugh Davies Roberts1904 – 1970 married Emily Williams Mullins Harriet Amelia Roberts1907 – 1986 married Clifford Thomas Hillyer Florence Louisa Roberts1909 – Do you mean he died in the month of July ? Or July - Aug- Sept qtr A bit more digging and I found this www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/index.phpROBERTS William 35 Ardwick. Registers at Archives+, Manchester Central Library ARD/3A/30

Thank you for looking for us. On www.britishnewspapersarchive I found a report on a William Roberts aged 40 of Longsight found dying from poisoning. Certified dead on arrival at Manchester Infirmary. The paper- the Manchester Courier was dated July 17th 1913.I knew that the age was wrong and was pleased to find in bmd the death you have entered with him aged 35. William was said to have died from overdrinking and Jane Olive of poisoning. The story seems to have been turned round in the memory of a then little girl. I just wondered if there was any report of either death in the North Wales papers that would confirm that we have indeed found the right William Roberts. Or a family announcement . The family will apply for the death cert soon. With Jane Olive it is a bit more difficult as there are 2 contenders. One was in Conway later in the war. Thank you for your help Sue

I should have added that I didn't find a report of an inquest on William Roberts as I had hoped.

My cousins husband has found lots of his own family in Gorton cemetery -so thank you for that. The details from the cemetery didn't throw any more light on who the family of William was but they are applying for a death cert. Regarding the Ancestry Trees. Someone has done a lot of research but have got the wrong Roberts family in their Tree. It just shows that they must be taken with a big pinch of salt. Thank you for all your help Sue

They have somehow cottoned on to a Frederick Andrew Roberts dying in Buffalo in 1953 but he married Matilda Steihl there in 1923and had a daughter but emigrated to Chicago in 1933 !!. Our Frederick George Roberts did the latter but otherwise all very muddled. Sue
