We are related to a Wynn family in Minera (A male who passed away between approximately 1966 and 1976). Does anyone have any information on any Wynn's in the area. He owned a farm apparently.

Hi, welcome to the site. Is this all the information you have. Can you tell us more, there were Wynn / Wynne families , but without more details then you can`t be sure if they were related to you.

Hello Anne! Unfortunately that's all the information I have. I know it is definitely Wynn without an 'e'. I believe Mr. Wynn had a sister. He likely passed away in the early-mid '70's.

Hi nula, Here are the results from FreeBMD, not all possibly and not all from Minera. Even so how can you tell which is the one you want?

Nula, This one looks promising. Arthur Wynn, born 27 April 1900. Christening 20 May 1900 Esclusham. Son of Edward Thomas Wynn, Brewer's labourer, and Mary Augusta Wynn. He died Sep 1974 Wrexham Maelor district page 24 0953 In the 1939 Register he was described as a Farmer and living at Bertheng***? Farm. His wife was Ethel Mary birth 25 Sep 1897. Not sure where the farm was but in the register it was on the page after Nant Mill and next to Bertheng*** Cottages. Someone with local knowledge can probably confirm whether this is Minera. I could be wildly out with this but thought it was worth mentioning. Nellie

Ethel Mary Wynn died in September 1966 and her address was given as Berthengron Farm, Frondeg, Esclusham Above, Wrexham, which I assume is the same as Berthengron Farm, Aberoer. Although Edward Thomas Wynn was a Brewer's labourer in 1900 by 1911 he had become a farmer in Felin Puleston and was living at Plas yn Clwdd Farm, Johnstown, when he died in 1952, his wife passed away earlier in 1952. In 1911 census Arthur Wynn had 4 sisters and 2 brothers. It is likely that his mother went on to have further children after 1911.

Hi My name is Tony Wynne and my father was Douglas Neville Wynne. My grand father was Owen Owen Wynne and I believe our surname may have been WYNN without the "E" my grand father was a painter and decorater and painted most of the houses around Bersham. He also was born in Coedpoeth and was one of fourteen. He married a lady he met in the airforce in the war. Hope this helps or starts a link.
