Hi.
I believe Richard Mainwaring WYNNE's grandfather was William WYNNE (born c1792), an engineer who lived and died (22 February 1839) in Aberderfyn, Ponciau (Ponkey). He's my ggg grandfather, and was married to Mary PARRY. George's brother Charles was my gg grandfather. Charles, his son Robert, and my grandfather Iorwerth Evan WYNNE are all buried in St. Paul's churchyard in Pentre Broughton. I have the parish record of William's burial (attached), but not been able to find out where William was buried.
The Monumental Inscriptions for St. Giles Churchyard in Wrexham (page 49) lists the gravestone of a William WYNN of "Aberderlyn", 10 Feb 1849, aged 57. The gravestone is no longer there. It may be totally unrelated, but the name, the reference to "Aberderlyn" that is almost certainly Aberderfyn, and the month of death might be suggestive of a possible mistranscription of a worn headstone. There were a series of articles in the North Wales Guardian in 1890-91 on the Cemeteries of the District. According to Joy Thomas at the A.N. palmer Cetre in Wrexham, there is an article dated 17 January 1891 with a heading on a paragraph referring to Lewis and Pritchard of Minera, as follows "Other stones in immediate proximity record the deaths of William Wynn, of Aberderfyn (1849) aged 37". The year of death and the reported age don't match, but there weren't too many William WYNNE's living in Aberderfyn around then.
Best wishes,
John Wynne

HI, I have an Richard M Wynne on the outer fringes of my tree and if it is your Richard Mainwaring Wynne I would appreciate some easy to copy info from you. His father was George and he was married 3 times that I know of--Emma Lloyd(in Wrexham) Mary Jones(Kent) and Sarah Anne ?.(in Wrexham) George was an iron moulder most of his life and I have all the relevant census details etc. I am hoping that if it is the same family you may have some exact dates from certs etc. Got your message thanks and this may help others in the future Tom
