Shedevils' red-zone site appears to be out of commission at the moment. If anyone needs a look up I have the Parish Register transcriptions for Minera, Llandegla and Llanarmon plus a lot of other parishes like Ruthin and Ruabon.
No substitute for shedevil's site but just ask if you need anything in the meantime.

Yes , it is a great loss if Redzone has gone, luckily I still have the Wern and Salem registers on my PC and CD The copies of these are at Wrexham Museum and Coedpoeth Library. I didn`t have a copy of the Bethlehem registers, so am having to transcribe these with the help of another Coedpoeth resident. Hopefully these can also be given to the Museum and Library. I don`t know if Llosgi will be able to put all the records on this site, it would be great if it was possible.

Heather - Could you look in the parish records for Minera and Llanarmon in September 1876 for the burial of an Evan Williams aged about 41 - a lead miner. He was my GT GT grandfather. Thanks Pat

Hi Patsy Was unable to check Llanarmon because the transcripts only run to 1837. However in the Minera book which covers burials 1847 to 1899 there is an entry for Evan WILLIAMS Jul 21, 1879, age 55, Pentrebais. Hope this helps. Heather PS only two other Evan Williams burials in the book - both babies

Thanks heather - I think the Minera one is probably not him, but thanks for looking anyway. Pat

Hello Heather,
I am searching for a Shadrack Davies found on the 1891 Census as 8 months old, born in Coedpoeth.
He does not appear after this date on any documents, and no family member has ever heard of him.
Could he have possibly died in infancy - therefore be on the Minera/Coedpoeth Parish burial records?
Thanks for your help.
Joy :-)

That was quick :-)
Right - does that mean there is a grave then? Where Wrexham Cemetery?
Thanks

Hi Joy, Pictures? I think I'll leave that to the experts. The death is registered in Wrexham. This means that somewhere in the Wrexham area, a child of that name died. Searching for the buirial and a grave will be more difficult.

There is only one Shadrack Davies born Wrexham in 1890. (There is another in 1888.) So we can probably say the death I found was your Shadrack. You could send for a death cert. And/or search the registers for his burial. It may depend on the family's religion to where he was buried, church, chapel or cemetery. Finding the grave may not mean there is a gravestone.

Hi,
Thanks for all your help.
Shadrack was the son of William Davies born Llanarmon 1851 and Ann Roberts from the Rhos born 1852/3.
He appears on the 1891 census living at Penygelli Road Coedpoeth.
It is likely then that the Shadrack found is the one i am searching for.

Ok , found him now, he was transcribed as Shadriah, which is why he didn`t appear as Shadrack. Looks like the family lived in Staffs for quite a while before coming back to this area. www.tom-mercer-mi-indexes.org.uk/index.htmHave a look at this site, some matching names, Priscilla , William Henry , in Coedpoeth cemetery. Some of these book with the full details are in the museum in Wrexham if you think it`s worth following up. These are non conformist. Also you can check for the death in the Prs if you think he was Church.

How are you findig this information out so quickly?
Yes they did - in Staffs/Lancs - William was a miner so we assume they went where the work was.

Hi Annette, I didn't realise the museum kept the Coedpoeth cemetery regs, I thought they were only kept at the parish office. Thankyou for that, I shall be taking a look on my next visit. Lynn

Lynn, it`s only some of the MI`s that were done by Tom Mercer at Wrexham, and I don`t think that Coedpoeth Cemetery is there. ,they seem to have been done quite recently. Seems like I`m mistaken The actual Coedpoeth Cemetery register is only at the Parish Office in Coedpoeth. Have sent you a PM.

Hi Joylea
I've checked the Minera burials but your Shadrack is not recorded in there. Have you checked the burials at Coedpoeth on Lee Wettons site?
Heather PS you can upload a picture in the post reply window - fourth icon to the right second row - "load image" - don't know what Llosgi's rules are for sizes but 320 x 240 or so should be OK. H

photobucket.com/?link=topmenu&special_track=nav_tab_homeThis is the site I used. You have to join and have a username. Then you get to a page where you use the Albums and upload link. Top left of page. On the RH of page is a box where you Browse for your photo. similer to sending an attachment by email. When you select your photo click upload. It then does a magic thingy trick and you have an album with codes for your photos. You have to use the Direct Link url, just copy and paste it to the Modify Profile page , and resize it to suit. 100x 75 is what I used for this one. I have tried it with mine and you see it`s changed, Joey Dunlop has gone, now we have Mike Hailwood. It is a bit complicated at first, and you`ll probably need the Help pages. but if I can do it

If you want to provide pic from another web location right click on pic and copy URL address. Then paste URL between img and /img as provided on upload pic facility. If you want to provide own pic from pc then photo bucket is ideal as Annette has found. Upload pic onto your photo bucket account and in similar fashion you can then have an URL address to hot link.
