I wish to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has taken time to contribute to the search for my paternal grandfather John Gwynne. We have a positive identification at last . . . he was indeed born as John WYNNE in 1874, and is the person who can be found with the Moss family on the census returns from 1881 & 1891. His birth certificate details provided by Alison showed a match with the birth date details which we have in the family. Why he made the subtle change to his surname I doubt we will ever know . . . but I am indebted to the team at minerahistory for making the connections. Helen.

Hi all, This is John Gwynne born John Wynne 25 th August 1874 in Nant, Coedpoeth - my greatgrandfathers half brother with whom contact was lost for reasons unknown. Helen and I are comparing notes at present and will continue to research as we are able - many thanks for helping us both out - very much appreciated Alison Attachments:

I know - they are like 2 peas aren't they - different mothers so they must have looked like their father. I found more relatives last night via Ancestry - I'll keep you posted, Alison

I have been searching since 1990, but am sure that I am now close to a result. Only 20 years Now think of all the added relations you have to add to the Christmas card list. Well done, I`m pleased it`s been solved.
