It was not the only accident in the area, I knew Bronwylfa rang a bell. Re: SEEKING JONH ROBERTS/SARAH MORRIS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wrexham Advertizer 1911 Feb 14. Inquest in to the death of John Roberts aged 35 of Bryn Twyfol Frondeg. This is a very brief version with only the important details. A witness was Edwin Morris of Brymbo, father in law. John was working on the Gronwen road diversion at Bronwyllfa, a fall of earth landed on him and badly fractured his leg, he was taken to Wrexham Infirmary about 4 pm his leg was amputated but he ded at about 7.20 pm the same day.

Where did you hear the story, that may give some clues if you knew the source. Ruabon burial registers for 1718, may have some record, sometimes they give details of an unusual death if you are lucky.

Looks to me a little like a township boundary stone, TF for Trefechan (ie Cristionydd Fechan township) and a date. Wonder if it is on the township boundary at all?
