hello, on my walks again just a snippet i have come across these water gauges before i found one in my younger days and remember a long copper tube obviously for measureing rain in the centre of this ring of stones any way this is what it says.WREXHAM AND E.D.WATER CO this gauge has been fixed to obtain a record of the rain fall which is of national importance an appeal is therefore made to the public to assist in protecting the gauge from damage.( p.s. i have a great picture coming soon waiting for permition from owner.)
