Anyone have an idea where Offa Place, Minera, might be? My great grandmother's brother, Owen Williams was living at number 11 in 1901 with his wife Ellen and two of his sons.

Hi katecllrs Looks like its Adwy Clawdd not Minera and next door is Offa Chapel House. RG13/5219/95/1 Owen Williams 40 Ellen Williams 39 Joseph Williams 14 William Williams 12 This multimap link will take you to Rhosberse Road. Look where this meets the A525 and Heol Offa. I think this is the location you are looking for. www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=rhos+berse+road&countryCode=GB#map=53.05027,-3.05598|17|4&bd=useful_information&loc=GB:53.04825:-3.05667:17|rhos%20berse%20road|Rhosberse%20Road,%3Cbr/%3E%20Wrexham,%20Clwyd,%20Wales,%20LL11%203 A map I have shows the chapel to be on the corner of the main road and Heol Offa. eluned

Thank you, all! Tom, which cemetery are the graves in? The ages of all three interred there look absolutely correct for my family (Thomas was Owen's older half brother, who never married). I've not had this information, so it's really useful, with burial/death dates I can move my research further along. And it's great to have a better idea of where the family lived.

If Tom has the details then it will most likely be Coedpoeth Cemetery

I guessed it was Coedpoeth Cem, but didn't want to make the wrong assumption. Many thanks again.

It is some time since I looked at this site and maybe by now you know where Offa Place is. When I was very young, we lived at 10 Offa Place, Adwy. It was not on the chapel side of the Ruthin Road, but on the Rhosberse side. Coming from Wrexham, after the Rhosberse Road turning, there was a large house and immediately after there was an unadopted lane. This was Offa Place. I lived there from 1945 to 1953. All the cottages have been demolished now, but there is a small modern housing estate on the site. Hope this is helpful.
