I have just come across some information which states that Baden Powell Griffiths ran the first bus service between Bwlchgwyn and Wrexham in the 1920's, is there anyone who could give me any other information about this and about Baden and his family. Many thanks Norma

Thank you for the information this is the right Baden but I am more interested in the information about him running the first bus service from Bwlchgwyn to Wrexham. Norma

Denbighshire archives has some records under the title ROAD TRANSPORT, but nothing specific for the name. Perhaps an obituary will have something. His death was 1979 Jan-Feb-Mar. Wrexham dist. Wrexham Advertiser might have something if you are prepared to trawl though it. There are copies on microfilm at AN Palmer, and they may even have something in their Local Studes section.
There is this book that`s been published, it might be in the library.
Title Wrexham bus companies: a collection of pictures Author Mike Edge Edition illustrated Publisher Bridge Books, 2000 ISBN 1872424880, 9781872424880 Length 72 pages Subjects Bus lines

I had a look at the Wrexham Bus Companies book in WXM library, it doesn`t mention Griffiths as a bus company, the only one for Bwlchwyn was George Edwards.

Thank you for your reply. I have got a copy of the book Wrexham Bus Companies but there does not appear to be any mention of Baden. Very interesting book and my daughter laughed when I said that Chaloner's bus was on the front cover, not a bus to forget. The information came from Baden's obituary so I will now see if I can find someone in the family that may know something. Thanks again for your help, Norma
