Wrexham Advertiser Saturday, August 23, 1890; pg. 8 Sudden Death - On Tuesday, when Ganger Cathrall was walking up the Great Western Railway, near the Old Smelt. He encounted a formidable looking adder 35inches long, which sprang at him. With a few strokes with a stick he killed the reptile.
