Hi All Does anyone have any info, history or personal stories of working at Pistyll Gwyn Quarry, nr Llanarmon yn Iâl? I'm trying to piece together the working life of my late grandfather who worked there until 1970 as did many of his family in the past. Many thanks Sarah This quarry was originally operated by a company called Cawooods who were acquired by Redland Aggregatres in the 80s. Redland operated graig quarry some 2 miles away and were given a large reserve extension in 1994. The reserve extension at Graig was granted on the basis that quarrying at the adjacent site at Pistyll Gwyn was ceased. I am still involved in the industry and know another gent who is still in the industry and worked at Cawodds in the 70s. If you want to let me know your relatives name I can ask him?
