Just wondering if there is anyone on this site researching their Matthias/Mathias ancestors at all. time frame 1700 to middle 1800's.

The parish records have a Joseph Mathias baptised on 19/07/1835 at Minera Parish Church Parent were John & Lydia Matthias of Brymbo There was a Sephora Mathias born 23/12/1850 in Broughton baptised 07/01/1851 at Wern Parish Church Parents were Samuel & Elizabeth (formerly Price)
Peter Matthias buried 24/10/1877 of Nant y Ffrith aged 3 months and Mary Matthias aged 36 of Nant y Ffrith buried 12/12/1877 also Matthias Mattias aged 10 of Nant y Ffrith buried 19/12/1878 all at Minera Parish Church
I am not certain whether they belong to your family but are available to view on the parish records site (click on the house icon under my avatar on the left)

I posted these on another site for June, perhaps someone here has more on the highlighted ones. All found in Wrexham PRs.
1766 born Oct 2 bapt Oct 12. John Mathias s/o Thomas farmer of Brymbo.
1763 born Aug 27 bapt Aug 29. Mortingal Mathias s/o Thomas farmer of Brymbo
1768 born May 13 bapt June 26. Edward Mathias s/o Thomas farmer of Brymbo.
1771 born Apr 13 bapt Apr 21. Mary Mathias d/o Thomas farmer of Brymbo.
All these were baptised at Minera Chapel but the births were registered in Wrexham PRs.
The only possible baptism for Thomas is also in Wrexham PRs. 1730 born July 11 bapt July 14. Thomas Matthews ( Matthias) s/o John, yeoman of Esclusham. There is another but he would only have been 14 when John was born.
1790John Mathias married Mary Hughes 3 March 1790. Wittnesses were William Bennet , Richard Meeson. Richard Meeson must have been an official at the Church because he is a witness at many marriages.
1775 John Mathias collier married Catherine Evans, sp. ( no date entered) wittnesses were Samuel Parry and John Edwards
1787 .Dec 24 th. Mathias Mathias married Anne Edwards. Wittness. William Bennet.

1749 born Oct 7th Bapt Oct 22 nd Thomas Mathews ( Mathias) s/o Samuel collier of Brymbo.
1791 bapt Apr 7 th born 25th ? Ermin Mathias d/o Mathias and Ann, collier of Brymbo.
1792 born Apr 8th bapt Apr 21. Sarah Mathias d/o Mathias and Mary collier of Brymbo
1793 bapt April 26. Eliz. Mathias d/o John and Catherine collier of Brymbo.
1794 born Aug 6th bapt Oct 25th Peter Mathias s/o John and Catherine collier of Brymbo.

Many thanks to you for this information on the Matthias...the John Matthias and Mary Hughes are my 3xgreat grandparents. Thomas Mathias the farmer I believe to be 4xgreat grandfather . and Joseph Matthias is a son of my 2xgreat grandparents. not sure about any of the other Matthias there as yet. but will look into them.

I have a Johnathan Mathias and Jane Mathias as witnesses to the marriage of Price Edwards and Ann Jones in 1847. I dont know yet if there is a family connection.
