Hi Tom
There is a Wrexham Civil marriage in 1899 between a John Hughes and a Mary Jane Allmand on North Wales BMD. If you look up her family on 1891 and prior census it might help to look for them in 1911. Sorry but I don't have 1911 access myself.

Hi, Thanks everyone for all your input and I do have access to all censuses now on Genes Re. but I still have difficulty getting there so to speak The parents are correct for John but you can now see why I am struggling-- I am starting to think Mary Jane Allmand is a front runner at the minute but need a little more to be confident. Thanks again Tom

Hi Tom - did you get any further with your enquiry?
I seem to have the following: Mary Jane ALLMAND marries John Hughes OR David Williams Q3 1899 Wrexham BUT I also have: Mary Jane ALLMAND marries James Hampson Q4 1900 Wrexham
The Hampsons can be found on the 1901 census.
I'll be interested in your thoughts.
Tony
