I've recently started researching my family history and have found that my ancestor Robert Griffiths was minister at Engedi Chapel, Brymbo, during the 1860's and 70's. I've been to have a look at the chapel and it is empty at the moment. I wondered if anyone knows whether there are any records of the chapel, and if so, where they are kept. Does anyone have any info on Robert Griffiths and his family? Thanks!

Are you after any specific information with regard to Robert Griffiths?
Do you have him on the census?

Thanks for the links Eluned! I've found Robert Griffiths on the census, so I know where he lived, but I'd like to know about him as a person, his style of preaching etc if possible. Also looking for info on his daughters Sarah and Winifred. Winifred was head of Wrexham Board school for 22 years - does it still exist? What is it called now? Any info would be welcome!

Thanks for that info anndw. I found the info on Winifred on her gravestone, along with dates of death for Margaret and the daughters, except for Sarah Jane who married David Smith in June 1877, and went out to India with him sometime after 1881. I am trying to trace what happened to her after that. She qualified as a teacher in Glasgow Free Church Training College in 1876, which seems like a long way to go from Brymbo!

There are records of various schools at Denbighshire Record Office, I'm afraid I can't say if any are relevant to your research though. www.denbighshire.gov.uk/en-gb/DNAP-78GL4AChoose subject/then "s" for school.
