If I detailed every drunk and disorderly , it would be a v-e-r-y long post, so I`ll stick to the more unusual ones. ;D ;D
Coedpoeth charged

Robert Davies of Coedpoeth was charged with being drunk and disorderly , refusing to leave Mr Ankers vaults . Defendant had just been married and on the strength of it had an unusually large share of cwrw da , the result being that greatly to the dissatisfaction of the bridal couple the first night of his matrimonial life was spent in a police cell.
On Thurday a stage cart was going down Town Hill at a rapid rate when a man named Edward Shelby, said to be in a state of inebriation ran towards it and said he wanted to ride to Coedpoeth. The horse and shandry went over him and he received such injuries that he could not be removed from Wrexham till Friday when he was taken to Coedpoeth in a very precarious state.

Sarah Davies, Red Lion Inn, Talwrn charged Thomas Roberts , Rock, Penygelli with assault, She said he came into the Red Lion, at about 11 o clock quite drunk, she refused to serve him and then he struck her. Defendant, a notorious character was fined £20 and costs, The money not being forthcoming , he was committed to gaol for six weeks hard labour.
Edward Valentine of Talwrn charged Thomas Roberts, the defendant in the above case along with Edward Williams and John Roberts with assault. This had arisen from the above case. Valentine had been trying to shield Mrs Davies from Roberts when he was hit on the head with a stone, and kicked while on the ground. John Roberts and Williams were fined 20s Thomas Roberts was given 14 days hard labour along with the other sentence.

Thomas Griffiths stonemason Talwrn was summoned for assaulting Sarah Davies landlady of the Red Lion Talwrn. Defendant called a witness to prove the complainant had struck him with a candlestick and charged the landlady with supplying a drunken man named Carrrington with ale on the same day.
Case of assault dismissed, Mr Davies was fine for permitting drunkenness.

John Weldon and Enoch Williams , colliers of Coedpoeth were charged with malicious damage. The had pulled off some coping on a railway bridge , breaking fences and pulling down gates. Fined £2 or a month in prison.

James Williams shopkeeper , Coedpoeth was charged with selling a quantity of brawn unfit for human food. There had been complaints and PC Chaloner went to the shop, the brawn looked nice but it smelt. Williams brought it to Wrexham to be destroyed and was let off with costs and ordered to be more particular in future.
Elizabeth Wynne, Nant, Bersham charged Elizabeth Smith, Letitia Smith and Harriet Smith, mother, daughter and daughter in law with assault. According to her statement they came to her house and with no provocation beat and kicked her. It appeared however that the row was between Elizabeth and Letitia, who fought for ten minutes, and the other two separated them. Letitia was fined 2s6d and 10s 6d cost. The others were dismissed.

Elizabeth Roberts Coedpoeth charged Ruth Parry, a neighbour with assault. Complainet was passing the Welsh Harp when the defendant came out, abused her with her tongue and threatened to strike her with the poker, but did not. Case dismissed.

John Howell Coedpoeth charged by Edwin Davies, assistant to Mr Griffiths watchmaker, Denbigh with stealing a silver watch guard. Prisoner said he was exhibiting a number of watch guards at his watch club room in Coedpoeth when the prisoner managed to extract the chain in question. Information was given to the police who found the prisoner in bed at his fathers house, he said he was so drunk he didn`t know what he was doing and had no recollection of the affair at all.

Elizabeth Moss, Nant, summoned Mary Jones, a neighbour with assault. The dispute arose about an oven , defendant fined 1s and 8s 6d costs.

Ann Jones, Penygelli charged by Ellis Richards , the Nant with striking him on the head with a stick. She said he hit her first and she took the stick out of his hand and hit him back.

He saw the prisoner very drunk and disorderly in Penygelli and took him by the arm to lead him home. when he kicked witness on the thigh, shouted that he was “ Jack the Ripper” and no one should take him, then ripped the witnesses coat all down the front. Fined £1 and costs.
