Hi, Just found David John Jones No 6474 on Coedpoeth War Memorial who sadly died 13 3 1915 and as he may be a relative on my wifes side I am hoping someone will be able to put some more info on here please such as age or parents---The person I am interested in was born 1890 and I have him in the 1901 Census living with his father and step mother in New Brighton Minera but failed to positively locate him in the 1911 Census. Thanks Tom

He gave an age of 21 when he enlisted in the 4th Battalion (Territorial) RWF in July 1909. Address then of 16 Kent Road Lodge, Brymbo. Worked at New Brighton Colliery. Father, Mr O Jones with an Alberta, Canada address.
The 'family form' is available. Brother, William, is at 8 Tanyfron Road. Brother, Thomas is at 12 Bright Street. Sister, Nellie (Walker?) is at 5 Smithy Road, Coedpoeth. His medals etc were sent post war to Mrs E A Davies, School House, Pentrellyncymmer.
He went to France 10th January 1915 (the battalion had gone over in Nov 1914) and was killed in action on 13th March 1915.
War Diary states (for 11th to 13th March): Quiet day in trenches. Working parties at night filling in gap between ourselves and Munsters. 2 men killed.
(The other one killed was Thomas Jones 6893 on 11th March. He is shown as born Broughton, enlisted Coedpoeth. Is he on the Coedpoeth Memorial?)

Thanks for such a prompt and detailed reply which was far more than I could have dreamt of. It proves beyond doubt this is not the David I am seeking. I did come across a David John Jones boarding with a Davies Family in Coedpoeth in the 1911 Census and the head of the family was an assistant schoolmaster. David was down as his brother in law-probably him. Thanks for info which has certainly answered my query-Tom Yes there is a Thomas Jones RWF on the memorial but no details whatsoever. There is a great programme now on the Clwyd Family History site for most of North Wales Military Memorials---AMENDMENT I have just noticed it does give his number 6893 and resting place also that he was a Corporal---Sorry about that another senior moment i'm afraid
