very informative and interesting pieces of information... What a great idea. I know personally that there are a few listings on there that are definitely related to my owens' but interestingly i would like to find out more information of the Owens who were proprietors of the Westminster Arms (are they related to my owns???) also Anne Lloyd (is this my GG Grandmother ?) who was a shopkeeper in adwy in the 1876 Casey's directory. looks like I'm going to have to do a bit more investigation but would love to hear from someone who could help me along the way. Just to add to these quandaries i have, I remember my Nan told me that one of her uncles owned the local abattoir and had explained to myself and my brother and sisters how pigs bladders were blown up by air to use as footballs then went into great detail of how black pudding was made. I will spare you the details as she found great enjoyment at watching our contorted faces with the explicit details. Again if anyone is aware of the abattoir and the name of the proprietor (would possibly have been 1920 ish) i would love to hear from you To give you an idea of location she was born at Coronation Cottages in Southsea but always referred to have been living in coedpoeth

I remember the abattoir in Coedpoeth. It was sited down Salem Road/Waen Road. It was derelict when we used to play there as children and was demolished in the early 1980's to make way for Cae Glas housing estate. Hopefully, someone will come across this site with more info on the abattoir when it was operational.

In the Bwlchgwyn Directories I can see my great-grandfather Griffith Williams blacksmith and grocer, who lived in 'Cynlais' on the Ruthin Road, also in 1886 I see Nathan Parry, brother to my great-grandmother Jane (wife of Griffith) farming at Ffynnon y Cwrw.
