Hi Everyone I was about to send for some MIs and Parish Records for research purposes and suddenly had a thought ;D It wasn't painful BUT now I have what may be (to some) a couple of very stupid newbie questions!! 1) Are the CLWYD FHS records in Welsh or English - If Welsh can they be translated with a Welsh Dictionary?? 2) How do most people manage to read microfiche? Do you need one of those big desktop things or is there another type of reader - hand held?? Since you've all been so kind to me lately I hope you will forgive my ignorance if these really ARE stupid questions

You'll find that most records are availiable in either fiche or booklet form. Booklet form ideally is your best option if you dont have a fiche reader. Obviously monumental inscriptions are transcribed identically as they are written on the headstone, so if they are written in welsh they will be transcribed in welsh. A welsh to english dictionary will be ideal for you to translate. (Very good link 'above' from nighthingych)
