Looking at the mariage certificates, my relatives seem to have been married at the register office in Wrexham. Would this have been a common thing for someone from Bwlchgywn to do?

Although the marriage was registered at Wreham registry office it was possible that the marriage was only registered for licence purposes as they were married in a non conformist chapel perhaps, If the certificate is registered at Wrexham the place of marriage will be named on the certificate

On the certs it states married in the register office at Wrexham. It's on both sides of the family. Edwards from Bwlchgywn and Williams from Coedpoeth. The only certs I have that state the name of a chapel is after both sides of the family have moved to Leigh, Lancs and got married in the welsh chapel in Leigh.
