Any Stories about the characters from the village. My Uncle was Arthur Jones {Knockit}. I remember going for a pint with him on quite a few occasions to the Royal Oak and just sitting there an listening to him, Glyn Davies and Ron from Minera talking about everything from politics to the Russian revolution. To think this was in Coedpoeth, Sometimes you would think you were in the House of Lords. Haha. All of these guys were great characters and there are many more. Tell your stories, I think it could be a great thread.

Like all communities, ours are also losing their characters... Hardship (& cheap beer )shaped the characters of the communities. I remember many from the area. Ron who you mention has passed away some years now and Glyn is now sadly hospitalised and I hear unlikely to return to the local pub circuit. Glyn was a very knowledgable chap - I was told he finished top in the scholarship for Grove Park Grammar School but refused to go - opting to remain in the 'higher' Coedpoeth School - well it was higher in altitude!
