In 1871 the census for Minera lists the Hand Public House as being on (I think) Bwlchgwyn Mountain. The next address is 'Grocer's Shop" then moves on to roughly the old gate on the old road and down to Cae'r Adar
Has anyone come across this particular 'Hand Inn/Public House' before, please

You are quite right - I had forgotton about that invaluable source of information. It narrows it down a bit to being "near the Kings Head", perhaps it was at the top of Fronheulog hill (as it says Bwlchgwyn Mountain), towards Tan Y Bwlch.
