For anyone with ancestors in the village and environs of Llanarmon yn ial, there will be an "open day" under the guise of a Farming Weekend on the 4th October, 2008, when the Parish Registers and Artefacts will be available for perusal, under the coordination of Donal Hurst. Hen Locsin

Thanks for that - what a wonderful opportunity! I have plenty of Belton and Edwards connections up there so, with luck, I'll be there, Hilary

Hen Locsin Do you know if the Farming weekend is still going ahead on the 4th October as I think I will be going but as it is quite a distance to come I would like to make sure ? Thanks Clare

Hi Heaffey, When I was last there on the 6th September, it was still a goer! If you want to email the Rector, I'm sure that he won't mind my giving you his email address :- huw@fourparishes.co.uk he is the Rev. Huw Butler. May see you there. Hen Locsin

Thanks hen Locsin I'll email him early next week and post his reply. Not sure at this stage what I hope to find but the opportunity to see the registers is too tempting to miss! maybe I will find the death of Margaret Jones mentioned lately in the ' Explosion at the lead mine' discussion as the records office is struggling to trace her.
Thanks again
Clare
