Does anyone know anything about the Rev. John Kelly b.1869 Minera to John Kelly, deacon at Minera Wesleyan Chapel and Martha nee Ashley. Rev. John Kelly officiated at the wedding in 1933 of my fathers cousin Dilys Williams to Tom Lettsome of Lodge. They married at Jerusalem Welsh Wesleyan Chapel, Wrexham but I beleive he was a minister in the Brymbo/Coedpoeth circuit.

Just thought I'd mention to Lynn that... My family ancestry research on my wife's family has a Lettsome of Lodge connection.

In 1871 I have a John 2yrs [who I beleive to be Rev John] and there is also a Thomas aged 1yr and Martha A. aged 4yrs. Children Martha A. and a Thomas of correct age, are buried with Dad, John at Wern. The other children David 19yrs,Edward 17yrs and Lydia 14yrs are most likely the offspring of Mary his first wife and so full siblings of my ancestor Hannah! I look forward to seeing the second lot of Wern Baptisms. ;D Thankyou very much annetteedwards Hi llosgi calch, Please let me know about your wife's Lettsome connection. Look forward to hearing from you. This site is brill! Lynn

I ve double checked the originals and TJ was born 2/5/1868 Thomas born 17/10/1869. There was plenty of time for Martha to become pregnant again. I suppose it`s not that uncommon for children to be given a name that runs in the family. My ancestor Thomas Wilcoxon had two sons born to different mothers , both named Thomas Wilcoxon

my father Norman L Williams was the minister at Rehoboth from 1975.
The Welsh Wesleyan chapels in Wrexham were on the Coedpoeth Wesleyan methodist circuit because Wrexham was considered English, and it was more important for the Welsh minister to live in the Welsh speaking uplands part of the circuit. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Lynn, sorry for the delay....
My wife's aunt, Florance Richardson married Ernest P. Lettsome in 1933. She died two years later aged only 23 from TB. My mother in law (Florance sister) is 86, and she tells me Ernest Lettsome came from the 'Lodge also.

Thankyou Peter you may prove to be another useful contact. My G.grandfather Griffith Evans was a preacher at Rehoboth from c.1855-1892 and was buried there. He was recently reinterred in the cemetery and I attended the blessing service. Do you know if anyone took photos of all the graves? I have one of Griffith's but would love to have photos[what a strange hobby we have!!] of the stones of Mary and Ioan Kelly. Hi Llosgi, I think there is definatley a connection. My fathers 1st cousin Dilys Olwen m. Tom Lettsome of Cambrian House, Lodge also in 1933, at Jerusalem Welsh Methodist Chapel. The wedding photo obtained from the leader, shows an Ernest as best man. Is this your Ernest I wonder? Tom has a brother buried with him at Brymbo P.C but he isn't on the stone and I don't know his name. I am in contact with Tom and Dilys' daughter. Cheers, Lynn
