Hi anniebowen, I can't seem to find them. Could you possibly let us have some further details from any census you have found them in and when/where they married, if you have this please. I have searched for a marriage and can't seem to find it Are you wanting further census info, baptisms, marriage? and is it the Kelly line or John Jones you require info on? Thank you. Not the easiest of names to search for but we shall do our best ;D

Thank you so much!It must be the same family, though the 1881 census gives Elizabeth senior as being born in Pen y Gelli and Elzabeth junior's place of birth as Cefn.An older cousin of mine maintained that there had been a son called Charles, who died early. This 1891 census confirms this. Again-this site is fantastic.

RG12; Piece: 4168; Folio 130; Page 23 This is the ref for the 1891 in case you want it. The only thing is John is born `Menairah` Denbs, Minera ? but certainly looks like the same family as 1881 1881 RG11; Piece: 4965; Folio: 63; Page: 61 having looked at this, The emumerater obviously had problems with a Welsh accent, Cefn is Cavan, Devonshire. Pennygelle Devonshire , Dyserth is Desartt. How on earth did you find these Anniebowen - well done ;D

Eluned-having found John Jones and Elizabeth Kelly in Hebburn in the 1891 census,is there a way of finding out who John's mother was?His father was an Owen Jones (according to John's marriage cert.) but I don't know where he was born.

John Jones, phew! This may not be easy. Have you found them in 1901? Where does it say he was born in that census? You will then have to see if you are able to find him with father Owen in the census working backwards. Depending where you are searching the 1861 may or may not be available, some of these are missing but you should hopefully find him in 1871 and 1851. You should have father Owen's occupation from the marriage cert which will help. Good luck. If you need more help and nobody else has got there first ;D I shall have a look tomorrow when I have some free time.

Hello anniebowen - The nearest that I could find on the 1851 Dyserth Census is this family Owen Jones, Lead Miner, born Llanasa aged 45 Anne Jones, Wife, born Holywell aged 40 Anne born Dyserth aged 17 Cathrine born Dyserth aged 17 Sarah born Dysyserth aged 10 Edward born Dyserth aged 8 John born Dyserth aged 5 Mary born Dyserth aged 3
Then in 1861 it looks as if Ann has remarried to a John Roberts and is now living up the road at Meliden. With them are three Jones children, Edward (20), Mary (12) and a William H. Jones(8) all born Dyserth. I'm afraid there is no sign of John being with them - it is possible that he remained at Dyserth as a boarder, there is no 1861 Census for Dyserth easily available. Regards - Margaret.

Thankyou Margaret-it is certainly possible that this is the family. The date for John's birth almost matches the one I have. The occupation also fits. Also,Owen was recorded as deceased on John's marriage certificate. At the moment,it's looking promising! Many thanks again.
