Whilst mulling through various FH stuff, I came across these bits from a local paper under the Coedpoeth section, Feb 1915.

Letters From The Front
In a letter to Mrs T.M. Hughes, Lloft Wen, Col-Sergt J.H Roberts, "E" Company 4th Batt. writes on Feb 7th:
" I beg to inform you that I have received per the Quarter-master, a football which you so kindly sent to the Coedpoeth Territorials. I am taking this opportunity of thanking you on behalf of the N.C.Os and men for your kindness. I can assure you that the men were delighted when I took the ball to them, as they were longing to have a ball to have a kick at. We have had sent a fair amount of ball (ammunition) lately but the change has done them good. We are now having a rest and do not know when we shall be in the trenches again. We left on the 3rd inst. after a a very trying 21 days and we are now billeting at ____. We are not doing badly for "Terriers" and we don't forget the good people at home who have been so good to us out here. I can assure you that we have so far faced many hardships and know right well that we have many more to face. Our prayer to the Great Redeemer is that we shall be spared to come home again to our dear ones who have been left behind. Please give my kind regards to Mr Hughes and all good friends."
