Did You Know'?' That whilst the 1841 public Census for Wrexham and its surrounding areas have been lost for all to enjoy..... ....The 1841 public census for the actual town of Wrexham does exist. All be it, so the story goes, the enumerators booklet was discovered a number of years ago in an old bookshop.
The enumerators book has been transcribed, and I do have a copy via genfair. Now that our messageboards have been enlarged I thought I'd mention this fact, and if I can help anyone just ask.

In 1841 at High Street, Wrexham, in the home of Thomas Jones (shoemaker) & family lives.... Alice Carrington, 20, Family Servant, yes (born within county).
Possibly a spelling mistake, perhaps (maybe not)? Also living at another property in High Street... Eliz. Cartington, 20, Family Servant, no (born within county)
Remember ages were 'rounded up' to the next 5 for adults on many 1841 census, this included.

Wondering If by chance, John & Elizabeth Williams register on the 1841 census? With fingers crossed, they may have lived in Wrexham during this period. Any assistance would be most helpfull. billybloggs

Just posted on the Coedpoeth site, but found a birth index for Wrexham,1870 for Grace Williams my great grandmother. Do you have anyone of her ancestors listed? Elizabeth Andrews - Robert Williams(married) or Grace Pascoe - William Andrews (married) or E. Thomas - Richard Wren(married). Kind Regards.

Remember ages were 'rounded up' to the next 5 for adults on many 1841 census, this included. I've just noticed this. It's always been my understanding that the ages were rounded down not up on the 1841 census. Was the town census conducted separately from the rest? H

Any Williams, Andrews, Pascoes in Wrexham in 1841 Census? No Andrews or Pascoes, but plenty of Williams. Who was Robert Williams spouse and what age range are we looking for?

I have spent most of my life searching for my roots. My great, great grandfather was Evan Jones (born 1803) who married Catharine, nee Jones and they were living in the Minera, Wrexham area in 1841 with their son, John (born 1836) and perhaps their daughter Margaret who was born sometime in 1841.
Any information would be greatly apreciated, Thanking you, Ken

Please note the 1841 census available covers only wrexham town and sadly does not cover the outlying areas. Anyone wishing me to do a search - please start a new thread per enquiry rather than adding to this one - as I run the risk of missing your enquiry - this will be much appreciated.
