Hi Tom, I get confused with the Adwy Chapels and burials, not being a local an all I do know one chapel was Wesleyan and the other was Calvinistic but I don't know which one is which. Sorry I can't help more. eluned

Hi, Just a quote from one of Clifford Davies's booklets------ ADWY'R CLAWDD "A Calvinistic Methodist chapel was built on this site which is opposite the Three Mile Inn in 1748. It was the earliest Nonconformist chapel in the area after the Welsh speaking "Society" left the Church of England. It was demolished abt 1982." The School Room was demolished abt 2002 having been used by a local builder H Roberts as a Storeroom Etc. I have always believed the cemetery which is almost directly opposite and just above what was The Three Mile Inn is Adwyr Clawdd Cemetery and I was curious to know if anyone had ever recorded the headstones etc Regards Tom

I`ve thought about that as well, sometimes the graveyard has had the grass cut. I seem to remember Clifford Davies telling me once when I met him that he had started doing them, he also had gone to Wern, but gave up. They are not on Tom Mercers site, which is unusual as he`s done a lot in the area.
