Hi guys
Now its my turn to ask for a bit of information.
when i first started on tracing my family history, the only item i had available was an old family bible in which the first few pages allowed details of the persons name, date of birth when born baptised married and death information to be stored., along with any information as to which churches the baptisms etc would have taken place at and also the persons address at the time of their birth.
My grandmother Marie Lloyd (pronounced marry) was born at 8 Coronation cottages, Southsea, Bersham on 10th December 1914, her parents being Thomas Jones Lloyd and Margaret Lloyd (previously Margaret (Maggie) Owens)
She had 3 Sisters that were also born at the Same address Edwina, Dorothy and Gweneth
Edwina was born on 18th June 1915 she died on 23rd August 1919 and was Buried on 27th August 1919
Gweneth Lloyd was born on 19th June 1917, She died on 30th December 1919 and was Buried on 2nd January 1920
Dorothy Lloyd was born on 18th April 1919
there is no information as to where they are buried. Im thinking it could possibly be Minera church as that is where their parents were married and I'm not sure what church would have been closer to the address.
Thomas Jones Lloyd, My Great Grandfather was the son of Mary Lloyd his father is not mentioned on his birth certificate as the family story is that Mary worked at the "Big House" the name of which i do not know, and that she was knocked from her bike one day on her way home by one of the gentry and raped thus resulting in the birth of Thomas. Thomas was brought up by his grandmother Anne Lloyd (nee Price of Llangwm) and they lived at Forge Row Brymbo. I can find no mention of mary only that Thomas mentions his father to be a David Jones on his marriage certificate but i think this to be his step father.
Annes other family are John E lloyd, Griffith Price Lloyd, Catherine Winifred lloyd, Jane A lloyd, Thomas Lloyd and Deborah Lloyd
now i do know that deborah lived a the lodge the majority of her life and was married to a Robert Davies
Griffith P lloyd married an Elizabeth Phillips and they had at least 4 children Thomas, Walter, John Ellis and Oswald they lived for a time at 2 Smithy Road, Southsea
If anyone could possibly tell me any more about this family i would love to know. the only other valuable snippet is that Mary Lloyd was possibly also known as Jinney also I have traced the parentage branches back to Ellis Lloyd from Cerrig y Druidion and Griffith Price of Llangwm
