In 1851 Thomas Wilcoxon is a visitor at Coedpoeth Machine House., he is a leadminer and was was born in Llanfwrog in 1824 ( illeg)
In 1851 an Elizabeth Edwards b Ruabon is a cook at Plasnewydd, Llanfwrog, Ruthin at the household of Joseph Peers , a solicitor.
1852 Thomas Wilcoxon married Elizabeth Edwards b about 1821 in Ruabon . She was the daughter of Hugh a stone mason and Mary of Ruabon.
It seems then that Thomas was still in Ruthin until about that time, presumably how they met.
They married in Ruabon and were both living in that area.
Their son Joseph was born 1855 at the New Inn, Coedpoeth.
In 1861 Elizabeths parents Hugh and Mary are both in Ruabon ,
1871 Mary is widowed aged 64 and is a housekeeper in Moss, I think at an Inn, the head is William Jones of Ruabon.
1881 Mary is back at her birthplace, Pentre, Ruabon aged 76, on her own and living off Parish Funds.
It seems by this time her Grandson Joseph Wilcoxon was already doing quite well for himself in Coedpoeth. His mother Elizabeth lived until 1903 . Why was Mary having to survive on parish relief, surely his Nain deserved more than that !!!.
The biggert unsolved mystery is how did Thomas Wilcoxons mother Elinor Roberts come to meet with Thomas Wilcoxon snr, she lived in Ruthin and he at Cornish hall. Holt.
This is my first real search on Ancestry UK, I am more than willing for any one to re-check this info and see if my theory is correct, and if you can find something more I have missed feel free to tell me about it. ;D
