Do you have any more info on your Davies' preferebly dates they lived in the area or birth dates I have searched the 1871 to 1901 census at that address for the names you have given but i cannot locate them there I did come across some Davies' at Victoria Terrace i'm assuming they are not of the same family. If you could provide a little more info even Samuels wifes name I may be able to get a match

Yes, what were the years your ancestors lived at Minera Cottages '?' This may help decipher the Minera Cottage question if they were living there during an availiable census year.

Hi
My Davies family lived at number 5 Victoria Terrace, and Im sure I was told other family members also lived in same village.
Maybe, Samuel was Henry/Harry's brother
Would love any information on my ancestors

Hi Have managed to acquire a little more Davies information. Henry did have a brother Samuel born 1879, also there was an uncle Samuel as well, he was born 1832.
Do you have your Sam's parents names as that would help?
Fingers crossed

RE minera cottage or cottages
MINERA COTTAGE is shown on the 1875 os map on minera hall rd . halfway between MINERA HALL AND THE SCHOOL on the opposite side of the road, on the site of present day council houses. This is however shown as cottage singular. Later sub divided? possibily? Minera Mill cottages numbered about 4/5 and were between the felin hill(wern rd) and the pentre hill, alongside the mill and adjacent to footpath 29.

I lived at No2 Mill Cottages, Minera and yes the location is correct. However there was a Richard Davies ( my Great Uncle ) at No1 Mill Cottages, a bachelor. His sister Sarah Anne Evans ( nee Davies) lived at No2, ( My Grandmother). At no3 were the Roberts family, and at No4 The Cotton family. Hope that this will assist. Hen Locsin

Hi, There were at least 3 cottages on Minera Hall rd exactly were you say in the 1930's and I can remember they were then called Ivy Cottages. Mr Charles Ellis and his wife Sarah lived in one and as he was the gardener for Minera Hall it was quite convenient to say the least. The other families were Mr and Mrs Pritchard with their 2 children Eric & Marjorie---The other family was Hughes and quite a large one---Alf, Alvin,May,Cissie,Thomas,William to name a few
