Wish that I had had some warning. It is a long way for me.
I have just acquired some family photo albums-on loan- and I am trying to scan or photo the photos. There are several group photos of Regiments that I haven't yet identified. If anyone can put one of the Welsh Fusliers cap badges on then that could help.
There is a photo of the grave with inscription of my great uncle John Henry Roberts Colour Sergeant Major who was killed 18 July 1915.This was prior to the graves having white headstones. His older sister Mary jane, was my grandmother and moved to Flixton, Manchester when she married.
I have mentioned them before in previous posts on Coedpoeth. I hope that I might find his family at some time.He had married Jane Elizabeth Jones and had 2 daughters Sue

Hi All --I got the family links wrong. It was Owens not Jones. The Jones were further back
It seems possible that Jane Elizabeth Owens born 1882 is linked to this Roberts family. In 1905 I believe that she married John Henry Roberts the 5th son of William and Harriet [Jones].I haven't discovered what family they had. A daughter aged 3 in 1911
He was killed in WW1 in 1915 when he was 32 and Company Sergeant Major of 4th Battalion Royal Welsh Fuseliers. His widow Jane Elizabeth lived at 3,Gwern Howell,Coedpoeth.[on CWGC site]
I have just had this message from a Second Cousin, Paul the grandson of Roland Roberts who kept the fish and chip shop in Coedpoeth.
"John Henry was shot carrying messages from the trenches, was told by my Gran that Taid saw it happen and held him." Possibly Roland managed to take the photo of the grave.
Sue
