Hi jengriffiths and welcome Have you had a look at Tom Mercer's MIs site. You will need to email him for further details if you see any likely suspects! www.tom-mercer-mi-indexes.org.uk/Have you tried the local newspapers for an obituary?

Hmm. He died quite young, so probably his wife lived longer. GRIFFITHS John James age 46 Wrexham 11b 210 John James Griffiths married Mary Williams in a Civil marriage in Wrexham Sep qtr 1891. Probably a Chapel but not a Church. 1901 John was born Rhos, Mary his wife in Sutton, and their children either Sutton or Holt. In 1891 John is unmarried and living in Isycoed, Sutton with his parents. Younger sister Emily was born c 1869 in Isycoed so they had been there a while. Could there be any reason for him to be buried in those areas.

Thanks for the info, but worked all that out, checked Isycoed where his parents are buried but no joy there either.but thanks to the Wern Chapel burial records,I have found Grt x 2 Grandparents burial there in 1869. Do you know what date internment stop there? The family were still living in the Rhose Berse Rd up to mid 1960's.

In 1911 Mary (widow)is still living in 11? Rhosberse Rd aged 41 with 4 children-John James aged 14, Thomas aged 12, Arthur aged 8 & Edwin aged 5. and her father Thomas Williams aged 73 yrs--Did she remarry as there is a Mary Griffiths aged 82 d. 1950(good date match) buried with a John Griffiths aged 59 d 1928 buried in Coedpoeth Cemetery. also Lee W. Pic 9867 shows stone for John James Griffiths her son who is buried with a Herbert, Arthur & Eunice in Plot 1066---Just pure guesses or food for thought maybe

The Wern burial register that has been transcribed only goes up till 1892. There could be another register but I have no idea where it is held. Non Conformist registers don`t have to be kept and are often destroyed when the Chapel closes. There are burials in the records dated 1932 . 1934 but they are noted as being buried in existing graves. These burials were not in the burial register but I found them in a note book that was written by the gravedigger and transcribed by Cliff Davies.
