There is an inquest on the death of Samuel Williams , rockman aged 29 at the Minera Lime works , it was held on the Monday , the accident happened on the Saturday , so would have been 6th . This is not word for word. The deceased along with fellow workmen John Kelly and Robert Roberts charged a shot which did not explode. They tried to get out the `stamper` using a scraper but it was very slow, Samuel used a drill which he was warned was dangerous , but he carried on regardless and it exploded. Veridict was `accidental death caused by the deceased own carelessness` Parkmarsh . If you send me your email adress in a PM I can send the copy of the inquest if you would like it.

A lady called Alice Thomas recently gave a talk at Coedpoeth Historical Society and the subject was based on an interview she had conducted with Betty Williams in the 1980s.

Back to Mary Williams see reply 32. By 1891 she had remarried, and Sarah Cathrines father is possibly revealed as John Griffiths. It looks very much like John was the lodger in 1881. In 1881 little Sarah was only 4 months old, and named Williams, she was born a few years after Sams death. I would guess this is the marriage. Bless him - he did the right thing Marriages Dec 1881 NW BMD shows a Civil marriage. Hi, There is a very short obituary in Welsh for poor little Margaret Ellen in the Welsh Wesleyan Magazine Y Cylchgrawn but it does not reveal anything new. Tom

Thanks to Tom, I now have a copy of the book about Betty Williams, written by J C Davies. She states she lived at Acton Grove. She taught at Gwerysyllt Infants school during the time I was there and mentions a boy I knew, he swallowed a steely, ( ball bearing) that we used to play ( cheat at) marbles with. I bet his Dad worked in Brymbo ;D ;D I can`t say I recall her by name.
