An email from Andy Roberts... Thought you may be interested in this – a picture of a group of quarrymen taken outside one of the Lime Burning kilns at the quarry circa 1920s. My wife’s great grandfather is frontrow at right hand extreme of the picture.
Can we add any further names to this picture '?' Attachments:

Hi, I have the same photo though no names attached. My grandfather, Arthur Edwards, great grandfather, David Edwards and great uncle, Sylvanus Edwards, all worked at the Limeworks. Attached are 2 more photos from the quarry. Attachments:

Hi Phil, I am not sure if the Alun Jones on this thread is the one you are interested in as I do not know his d.o.b. Why not start a thread of Joseph Thomas Jones for example as I have lots of sideways info for this family including the Alun Jones, Heth Jones etc. that you seem interested in, as they are on the fringe of my family tree. Regards Tom

I am looking for an older Joseph Jones who was a lead miner deceased on the 1873 marriage certificate of my great grandparents William Roberts and Harriet Jones.Father -reputedly-of the bride
Please help Admin as my whole topic on them and their family -2 or 3 pages long and with several photos seems to have disappeared. I tried a Search for Harriet Jones without success and have been through the list several times Sue

Hi have been scouring the internet for these fantastic pictures! I am sure one of them is one of my grandfathers-Isaiah Jones. I will post a picture and you will see what I mean!
Please can anyone help me find Joseph Jones 1833-1904 and wife Margaret Blackwell 1834-1895 who had my Esau b 1863. My family ended up in Stoke on Trent reputedly walking all the way on the railway line looking for work.

Hi and welcome, I am unsure how much info you have on your ancestors but I did notice these baptisms in Salem Chapel Coedpoeth--Parents Joseph Jones & Margaret (Blackwell) I am sure there is a misprint in the record for the years as you will see but here goes--Joseph born 17 6 1865 bap 24 10 1865---Esay(sic) born 20 8 1865 bapt 7 11 1865----Elizabeth born 29 8 1861 bap 29 10 1865-Family lived in Nant, Coedpoeth and Joseph was a miner---I feel 1865 has been put in too often so to speak but maybe you can sort it--Regards Tom Ps I have changed Isiah to "Esay" which is actually written in records

Hi Tom, Thank you so much for getting back to me. I have happened on this site which is wonderful and so helpful to me.
Joseph did marry Margaret Blackwell and had lots of children including Joseph 1865 and Elizabeth 1861.
After doing a lot of work on this, I find it is his brother I am after-Thomas 1833.He had Isaiah (married Kezia Henrietta Cope-they had moved to Staffs by then looking for work in the mines I think)1853 who had Isaiah 1887 (my grandad)
Thomas and Joseph's father was Esau born 1803 Northop who married maria Roberts. I cannot get any futher back than Esau who may be the one who was accquitted on 21st Oct 1852 of larceny it appears. Wish I could find out about that too.!

Hi, The first picture of the quarry men 1920's back row, second left, is the spitting image of my grandad Isaiah Jones. It could not be him but it could definitley be his Dad Isaiah born 1887. He lived and worked the mines in that area. I did a double take when I saw it.
