I have found my Great Grand Father David Pugh (1862),Born in flintshire Great Grand Mother (Mary Pugh) born 1861- Denbigh Grand Mother born 1889 Pheobe Pughand Siblings living in Grosvenor Place, Adwy. 1901. I have tried to find them prior to that without any luck. My Grandmother then married to become a Roberts.
These are on my mothers side.
It then becomes more difficult as my mother then married into another Roberts Family
Anyone else searching the Pugh Family

Im not 100% certain but it is a logical possibilty that Ellenor Jones and Edward Pugh became to be Edward and Ellen Pugh the date ranges are the same you may have to check FreeBMD to see if there is a possible match. Its a possibilty that the couple formed a relationship at their place of work. Let me know if you find anything out

Everyday life has drawn me away from my hobby, however I am back into the swing of things and hoping to to carry on where I left off.
Could you please point me in the right direction as to where I can obtain a copy of the Marriage Certificate of Edward and Eleanor. I have been contacted by another person researching the Pugh Family and it looks like we may be researching the same family the marriage certificate will clarify everything

Spot on Trace! Edward Pugh married Eleanor Jones in the second quarter of 1861. (Ref: Holywell 11b 463)Hi again Marion The easiest way to order your certificate is online at www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificate/index.asp#0 you will need to register first of all but can use the login time and again for any further certificates you wish to purchase The price per certificate is £7 Once you have logged into the site you would choose the type of certificate you wish to order which in this case is a marriage certificate, * Click on the line of the type pf certificate you require * In the for all events section where it says is the general register office known, choose yes * In the field for year in which the event was registered type in 1861 (which is relevant to this particular certificate) * Click on the box that says submit further down the bottom of the page You will now be redirected to a new page at present the GRO are experiencing a high volume of persons requesting certificates and it may not allow you to log in so that your personal details are automatically entered int the relevant fields. If this is the case there is a possibilty that you will have to manually enter these details until the problem has been reolved with demand from the GRO[/i] If the above has been experienced you will then have to click on the return button again to be redirected to another page In the corresponding fields * enter the mans surname PUGH * Mans Forenames EDWARD * Womans surname at marriage JONES * Womans Forenames Eleanor in the next section * from the dropdown box choose Quarter 2 * The district name is Holywell * The Volume number is 11b * The page number is 463 in the remaining fields choose what standard of service you require ( I always find standard to be sufficient and think that the priority service of £23 is only useful if the certificate is required for a living person as supporting evidence for a Passpoert for example) the number of certificates is usually 1 and a personal reference could be in this example Edward and Ellen Pugh now click the Submit button and you will be asked to make a payment fill in your credit card details against the secure webserver, Oce the payment has been verified you will be given a receipt number and an expected date that your certificate will be despatched. I have found this to be approximately 7-10 days in the past If you do not have a credit card, your options are to ask whether a family member could make the payment on your behalf in return for the cash or you could send a request by normal post methods to print off and complete the document located on this link www.gro.gov.uk/Images/B0324_tcm69-11387.pdf enclosing a cheque or postal order amounting to the fee required which is £7.00 for more information visit www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/marriages/obtainingmarriagecerHope i haven't offended you by doing this in step by step format but in the job that I do you would be surprised by the amount of people who get frustrated over filling in forms Tracey
