Hoping that someone may be able to help me locate where my ancestors shop stood on High Street/Ruthin Rd. Griffith Evans sold various items including stationary, between at least, 1866-86 and is listed in some local directories. It seems to have been listed in 1871 census as the next property to William Williams, chemist, Ruthin rd, and the apothecaries hall, High st, in 1881. It was also close to Price's Row and Prince Of Wales Inn. Did some of Ruthin Rd. become High St after a certain date? Where was Llew Hughes shop as I beleive he took over from William Williams? Any help welcolme! Thanks, Lynn

Have you taken a look at the directory information on the Coedporth section'?' www.coedpoeth.minerahistory.com/directory.htmlYou may find something there, such as a street number which will help pin-point where exactly the shop was located.

Thanks but no street numbers appear for that time. It may be that I never solve this problem, but you never know!
