How far an area do the records cover ? I have found today that my price family are connected to Rev. Edward Price who was born in Llangwm yba.llgc.org.uk/en/s-PRIC-EDW-1797.htmland his son John Price who became the Principal at Normal College, Bangor. John was born in 1830 in Oswestry and have reason to believe that he also had a brother named Thomas born c1832 cant find any more info on them at present yba.llgc.org.uk/en/s-PRIC-JOH-1830.htmlIf you can find anything covering Oswestry for that period would be much obliged Ta Tracey

Jane Price had a daughter Mary Jane Price who was born in Ruthin Workhouse in 1878, She was brought up in Wrexham Workhouse and never knew her mother, could Mabel aged 10 in 1898 being removed from the workhouse because of contracting Typhoid be the same girl ??
her grandfather Joseph Price was living in Pentre Bais in 1881 aged 61 together with his daughters Catherine aged 20 Anne aged 16 and Grand-daughter Ellen aged 3 Months he disappeared after that but I do think i have found his death registered 2nd Quarter of 1895 in Wrexham Vol 11b page 217 if you can get me any details on this it would be appreciated

Hi Annette
I'm not sure what records are available and don't know how much of a tall order this is.
If you can find any information on the following I would much appreciate it.
I'm researching John Evans and I'm trying to establish any children born to him.
This is the information I have
John Evans born Wales 1792c died 27 April 1865 MARRIED Elizabeth Evans born Wales 1786 and died 14 March 1868 Children: John Evans born Wales 1811 and died 10 JAN 1870 He had two children in 1819. It has been noted he had a daughter Mary Jane (this may be a red herring she could be his niece)
I'm also trying to establish whether he had any male siblings.
There are two possible sets of parents. The latter looks more promising.
Edward and Jane Evans (their son John Evans was born in 1791) and Edward and Elizabeth Evans (their son John Evans was born in 1793)
If this is something you could help with I would really appreciate it.

Yes -- a tall order Have you any idea where in Wales all these were born. The A N Palmer Centre only has records for part of the Clwyd / Denbs area , so unless I know where they were born , married and died, then a search for the right parish will be pretty difficult. Where have you got your information from so far

Sorry Annette
Please bear with me Annette I am not experienced in family research and have never visited a records office or looked through parish registers etc. Also I'm from Oldham in Lancashire so find it a bit difficult to get my head round the welsh geographical areas. Not only do I not have a clue, I don't know how much I am asking of you and if it is too much I will definately understand.
John Evans is the miner that survived the flooding of Pentre Fron Colliery in 1819 and was from Coedpoeth.
His story was recorded in Welsh by Thomas Evans of Adwy, Coedpoeth, appearing in the Goleuad Gwynedd of November 1819. In this story it was noted he was married to Elizabeth and had two children.
We know that one of his children was John Evans b 1811 (I am currently in touch with one of his ancestors in New Zealand who has given me her family tree) although I am not a descendant of the son.
I have also been in touch with a Charles Gunther who also carried out some research on John Evans several years ago. He's now living in Japan and only as access to some of the notes.
What he did tell me from his notes was that he had found two possible sets of parents for John Evans and gave me the details as listed in my earlier post.
John and his wife were buried in Adwy.
Does this give you any further info?
If what I am asking of you is extensive perhaps you could advise me or make enquires at the AN Palmer Centre to see if they offer a Researching Service.
kind Regards
Jan

Hi Annedw & Netty I just checked the Minera Baptisms 1786-1820. The only baptisms for John EVANS in and around 1792 were both 1790:
March 21, 1790 (born 17th) father Richard, mother Rachel JONES May 16, 1790, (born Apr 29)father David, mother Jane ROBERTS both fathers were listed as miners.
Couldn't locate any Minera baptisms for John EVANS in 1791/1792. Probably the information Netty has is not from Minera. The marriage was probably Wrexham as marriages were not performed in Minera until 1845.

Also if they were Church or Chapel, if Chapel then that will be awkward as there are very few registers about. The only Hannah Jane born 1900 in Free BMD was in Llanwrst. Maybe it would be best to find Emlyns marriage certificate, that will name his father. Emlyn Roberts Married to Phoebe Pugh. 1927 , this was a civil marriage, so you have to get the certificate , it won`t be in PRs.

Hotwood, if they went to the Chapels, then there will be no entries in Parish registers and that is all that is available for lookups in Wrexham. You will have to get certificates from the register office in Wrexham. The chapel in the bottom of the Nant is Saron, - again , no registers. So I can`t help , sorry.
