If I may start the ball rolling....
My great taid a nain were Thomas Lewis and Jane (ne Davies), they arrived at Pentre Bais, Minera in 1886. Thomas and Jane had wed in Birkenhead where they had both been working for a short while. Thomas originated from Llanerfyl and Jane from Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd near Ruthin. Thomas first job in this area was as a platelayer before becoming a lime burner at the limeworks.

The earliest that I can find is James Kelly, Coal Miner b. ca1800, Minera and his wife Frances (Fanny) Blunt b. ca1803 also Minera. They were married at Minera in 1823. I haven't yet found any records before this date so I have no idea who their parents were or where they came from. After that there was a steady stream of males coming in to work in the Lead Mines - starting with John Blackwell, from Gwersyllt, in the 1840's - he married Mary Kelly in 1847. One of their daughters Frances than married Peter Williams in 1869. Peter who had arrived in the 1860's from Halkyn went on to become Mine Captain/Mining Agent.
I then have two branches of Edwards families, both originating in Llanarmon yn Ial - but unrelated to each other to the best of my knowledge. One family arrived in Coedpoeth in the 1850's and the other in the 1880's - also to Coedpoeth.

Ooops! There's always one isn't there, and it's usually me! I tried to vote twice, 2 lines, and found I couldn't seem to do so. My G.Grandparents Griffith and Ellenor Evans [nee Jones] moved from Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd in the mid 1850s, to Coedpoeth. John Jones b.1837, moved from Betws yn Rhos, Abergele between 1841-71, to Cae Newydd, Frondeg. Hannah Kelly was born in Minera in 1839, to John and Mary Kelly [nee Hughes]. John Kelly b.c.1818 Minera and lived Vrondeg. I believe his father was also born in Minera but I haven't confirmed this as yet. Mary Hughes was born Brymbo c.1817

William Davies Born about 1769, Married Sarah Parry Born about 1774, married Llandegla Parish Church 9th March 1792. :My 3rd Great Grandfather. Now you can understand why they call me Hen, ---- Llosgi. The information gleaned from the Headstone in Llandegla, shows that Sarah may have been 12 when she married? Is this possible? or as is likely there may have been a mistake on the headstone? This is still under debate. Although the stone is very clear for its age, the second figure of her age at death is a little indistinct, the first is definitely 8-. It could be 3 ,5 , 6, 8, or even 0.

My great great grandparents, Elizabeth Hughes and Thomas Williams, are both on the 1851 census returns though they are likely (though I can't currently prove it) to have lived in the area all their lives (from 1823 & 1824 respectively).

Hi Lynn, Yes thanks for that! I thought that it may have been, but not entirely sure as I said the date of death on stone needs further investigation. Locsin
