I have got a little further thanks to this web site. My relations still live in Blwchgwyn, we are now in touch! He is very interested in my search for our ancestry.
Does anybody know who kept the Red Lion Coedpoeth from 1910 until 1950? there may have been more that one person who owned it during this time - every little helps.
During the period mentioned above I think a daughter of John Pritchard a coal merchant in Johnstown ran it (together with her husband). Herbert Pritchard inherited the coal delivery business from his father John Pritchard about 1920.

I have found an entry of an accident from one of the residents of the red lion in 1875 probably before your ancestors took over, Is for a Jesse Roberts who was the 10 year old son of the Landlord who fell 140 feet into a disued shaft at minera lead mines

I have been speaking to my counsin from Blwchgwyn, the Red Lion pub is in Talwrn - and not Coedpoeth as I thought!! If anybody can help with names of people who ran the pub from 1930 - 1940 I would be grateful.
