Well , I `ve been and found a bit, I`ve put what I`ve found on the relevent threads, which are -- Carringtons from Halkyn, and Explosion at lead mine , stll a dead end I`m sorry to say. The Halkyn Baptism records from 1820 are a joy to behold. Whoever kept those was a very helpful man. Apart from the usual details of the parents he gives the full maiden name of the Mother. Before then in 1817/18 I found two Thomas`s , one son of John and Dorothy, the other son of Thomas and Dorothy, but for their later children, I can see that the Dorothy`s were a Jones and a Humphreys. There were quite a few Carringtons so maybe some of them moved to Minera, Coedpoeth area apart from Frances.

Hello Annette was it you offering some reference to the Wern Burial Ground records? I cannot find the thread. If it was I have a request if possibel, I'm trying to trace a John Davies, of Minera who was ceratinly married at the chapel and may well have been interred there, that is if it was still extant in1953. Thanks

If you go back to the Minera History.com Homepage, there is a list at the top, Mynwent Wern, 1.2. etc. This is a list of grave owners only. The burial registers are in Bangor Library, along with all other registers related to Wern. Hopefully , a visit to Bangor soon will mean these registers can be photographed using a digital camera, and then transcribed , also hopefully with some willing helpers. In the meantime I hope you find something of use. I`m not sure about when it closed, maybe some-one else can help you there. There are some additions in the back of the register, these are dated about 1930s.

Thanks for that; just in passing have made contact through your site, with another contributor on Merseyside, who has received a great deal of information on the Ellis Family tree which forms part of my file. She seemed to be delighted and has agreed to forward some updates in return. So thanks again. For what its worth I aslo encountered some more Carringtons, this time at 2 Nantyglyn Minera on ther 1891 Census. John & Winefred, Thomas, Robert, Maria Jane, Barbara & MArgaret.

Would you like to post the Carringtons on the thread for them, There are a couple so I`m not sure which thread is the right one. there are so many they may not be noticed in this thread.
