I suppose I`m wasting my time posting this, but `hey who knows`. Is there some kind person out there, who lives close to the Nat Archives in Kew or is planning to go there that would be willing to do a search for me. War service records. I have all details and have phoned them, they say it should be qute simple. Go on, make my day

Hi Annette, Have you tried this site? Only useful for WW1 though. Lots of very helpful people and some will do lookups, may well be worth a try if its WW1 you are after. I got help to locate my grandfathers regiment. 1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/

Lynn, I`ve just spent half an hour trying to get a post on this site, I have done all the registration and been activated but all I get is a message telling me I cannot post on this forum. Given up now.

Hi, At the top of the forum page under welcome, click on Getting the best out of the forum, then click on new member why cant I post a message? and it explains that you have to wait to receive an e.mail. I remember this seemed to be a particularly slow process. But was well worth the wait.
