Is anyone please able to help me with locating the graves of my Ggrandparents James and Caroline Hulm(es)?
They lived in the Adwy lane and Tudor Street areas of Coedpoeth and are not recorded as buried in either Coedpoeth, Wrexham or Wern Cemetery - I think its possible that they were buried in Adwy but have been unsuccessful in locating any details so far. James Hulm died 1900 and Caroline in 1904 both deaths registered in Wrexham.
Regards, Alison

The don`t show in the Bethlehem burial register dated 1885-1991. Most people that died after 1894 in this register are in Coedpoeth.
In the same Chapel , Bethlehem there are two baptisms of children of Dennis Hulmes of Wrexham , born 1951/56 . As these persons are probably still alive I won`t post the details here,

Hi, Nothing on the Tom Mercer site - Hulmes are definitely buried in Coedpoeth but they are the children of James and Caroline. I will check the Liverpool area as well as they came to live in Coedpoeth from Liverpool in the 1870s but find it unlikely that they would be buried there as it is so far away from their own children in Coedpoeth. Many thanks for looking - something will turn up!

Hi again, I wonder if there are any more Hulmes buried in Coedpoeth specifically Richard and Margaret Hulmes? I know Richard Hulmes died in 1960 - there will probably be a child called Gwennie or Gwendoline with them died aged 10 years. I have located some of the Hulmes headstones now using Tom Mercer and Lee Wettons sites which are fantastic resources for Coedpoeth and Minera.

Hi Tom, Thats fantastic such a quick response - you are a true font of knowledge!! Such a shame about these young children I had no idea of - I will have to follow that up and find out who the parents were although their names are giving me some clues. I think Gwendoline died in 1934 according to my research so I think the 1st of January is the more likely burial date. Many thanks , Alison

If I`m not sure of a date of birth etc, I check on a few of the BMD sites, they all show Gwendoline T Hulmes as born June Qtr 1924, but at first I couldn`t find a death entry for her, now I have and she is entered as Gwendolen T Holmes aged 10 Dec qtr 1934.

Hi Tom, The only one I cannot locate now is William Hulm(es) born Liverpool 1869 , wife Margaret nee Gittins and son John William Hulmes born 1900 Coedpoeth. I have all the other siblings and have knowledge of later generations from senior members of my family - the only mystery is Mary Alice Hulmes b 1880 who married David Owens in 1899 Minera Parish Church and may have remarried fairly soon afterwards. However the BMD index for NorthWales shows several children named Owens born between 1900 and 1918 with mothers maiden name as Hulmes which can't really be a coincidence ( Hulmes was very unusual at the the time in this area) Thankyou so much for your help - I have found this website and its users to be so helpful in the short time I have been using it, Regards, Alison
