I have moved this to its own thread. Can anyone help me to locate my great uncle please? In 1881 he is with parents John and Hannah but this census page is very difficult to see. 1881 "back of Butchers Arms," Talwn Rd, Coedpoeth. John Jones b.1838 Abergele Harriet b.1838 Minera [nee Kelly] Mis-transribed, should read Hannah Edward A. b.1876 Minera [? aka Alan] I can't even find when his birth is registered The only clue I have are that he eventually has three daughters. Do I have to wait for the next census to solve this one ;D thankyou

How do you know he was Edward Alan, is it from a marriage The second page is very clear though and definately Edward A.

Thanks to you both, much appreciated. I checked out the other grave occupents! but don't recognise any names, but not sure if I would! Thanks for this Tominera it may still be the one. Hi Annedw, Perhaps a bit daft as it may be incorrect but the info is from my Uncle Elwyn (Dad's brother)'s family tree. Although brief it has been correct so far. It is possible though that he may have got confused with another cousin called Allan/Alan. You seem sure it is Edward "A" then? I wasn't completely convinced maybe being swayed by the uncles family tree but I couldn't think what else it could be. It isn't like the A for Ann, his sister Catherines' middle name. I haven't found a birth or marriage but was told two of his daughters, in later life, lived in the north east of England and the other possibly in Skegness. I don't know when they would have been born. Thanks again, eluned

Looks like I may have found a few clues from his sister's obituary. Wife Annie and and family were living in NE England, so hopefully I can now start to dig a little deeper. Thanks again, eluned

Now you mention the other A `s I agree with you, it`s not like those at all. Try looking at image 32 on the set and you`ll see Alfred Beard, halfway down, the A on that is similer to Edward A. Then look at Martha Roberts , two down from him, She is from St Asaph, check the A on that one Maybe the enumerator or clerk just changed his writing now and again.
