i THINK IT MAY HAVE BEEN TAKEN IN THE SCHOOLYARD OF THE FORMER PENYGELLI SEC. SCHOOL LOOKING TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE CARETAKERS HOUSE ON TABOR HILL.

I wonder, then, if it was the headmaster and staff? As far as I know the school would have had a large roll-call at that time?
Many thanks for the info, Hilary

Hi, If we have not progressed with identifying pic in 2 weeks time I will take a couple of copies with me to the Coedpoeth History Group and just maybe someone will be able to help throw some light on who they are Please feel free to disagree or critiscise this idea as I may have overlooked any possible snags doing this Tom

Hi, In the 1913 Coedpoeth Directory J S Rigden is listed at 49 High Street Coedpoeth he is not listed in the 1892 or 1922 Directories - so 1905 -1910 is a pretty good estimate!!

Mr John Sidney Rigden lived in Coedpoeth from about 1897 and took lots of photos of the local area. In the Jun 1/4 1903 he married Catherine H.S. ODGERS (aka Carrie) at St Tudfil, Coedpoeth. Perhaps we shall find him in the 1911 census when it becomes available.

TOM, I can`t see any problem in what you want to do, in fact I think it might solve it. I know there are lots of old pics around, I went to one of the meetings about 3 years ago and there was a photo of my Dad in Coedpoeth choir, I`d never seen it before. Fingers crossed.

Hi, I am afraid no one positively identified the group at last nights meeting--but it is early days yet as I took at least half a dozen copies which all went home with someone, therefore I may well get some info next month with a bit of luck. One older member did say that the gentleman in the centre front row looked very much like Mr Danson of Minera Hall and was my first choice but I did not want to influence anyone. I remember him in the 1930,s and there is a good picture of him in Glyn Davies book opposite Page 45 He is recorded in the book as Mr Davidson but I can absolutey say as far as I am concerned its Def. Mr Danson. I also think it is quite possibly taken behind Minera Hall as there were a lot of well maintained Buildings similar to these there as far as my memory serves me- I will now suggest the man on the back row ext right really does look like a gamekeeper and the others could well be staff and/or family. I hope this will bring out some of your own views and opinions as obviously I do not really know who they all are ;D Tom
