Moved this post to its own thread HI,I would like to develop some more info on Thomas Evans b abt 1821 in Ruthin. His Fathers name was William Evans labourer and from witnesses names Thomas possibly had a brother John & a sister Margaret Thanks Tom What we know so far: Tom said "I do not have any record of brothers or sisters for Mary Michael due to the fact my Census details for her start with the 1851 Census when she has already married my G Grandfather Thomas Evans in Wxm 15 5 1847 and the Witnesses were John Evans,John Michael & Margaret Evans and they are living in the Wern."

1851 Esclusham Above Wern Thomas Evans 32 leadminer b.Ruthin Mary " 28 b.Minera Is this the one Tom? If so Thomas would be born c.1819 so guessing it varies a little on the following census, nothing new there ;D Thomas, William, John and Margaret are all names that run in my Evans family from Llanbedr and they have a Carrington connection as my gt grandfathers niece married Robert Carrington. ;D

Morning Tom, I haven't come up with anything that fits. Trouble is that in 1841 there are a few Thomas Evans born around the same time and living in the villages close to Ruthin, not Ruthin its self, but I haven't seen one with father William. Perhaps he had already passed away Had Thomas already moved to the Wrexham area by this time Sorry not to be able to help with this one

Hi, Sorry to be so vague with details but William is not shown deceased 15 5 1847 on Thomas's marr. cert. However Thomas was living on Minera mountain in 1901 aged 76 y still working---His job "Has charge of the ponds which flow to Minera Lead Mine" quite a title for someone who lived across the road from the pools. The actual pools can be seen on this site in Minera Locations/mountain reservoirs. I was told he always gave a false age(lost a few years) to retain his job and cottage but it did not appear to pay off as he died 13 2 1902 allegedly 75 yrs old of a stroke in Wrexham Workhouse. I presume he had no means of any other healthcare at the time Tom
