I have established from Teglas autobiography that the three children who died were the twins between 1870-1875 in Mercher, Llandegla---About two years ago I met an elderly gentleman strongly connected to Llandegla Church who showed me some of the records etc. and he told me that Teglas father buried the twins near the church door not realising this plot was already earmarked for one of the clergy. The vicar at the time was very very annoyed and ordered him to dig them up and remove them from the church grounds (my friend also thought they had not been baptised ) The other child died in Old Gate, Llandegla 1877-1880 I was not looking for this part of the family at the time and so missed an opportunity to establish more facts--Any info/help welcomed Tom

If they were actually buried in the Church yard , surely they would entered be in the Parish Registers, even if there was a record somewhere also of the removal. Did they die at the same time. what were their names

Hi, Since I had the translation I have not had a chance to check any PR's for Llandegla--Apparently the twins were buried at night and there has never been any reference to any names of any of the children who died--I was given the impression the grandfather(Richard) buried them the same day they were born and this would not surprise me as there have been several references about him saying he was better known for his fighting and drinking rather than anything else --Tom

We never found William and Mary Ann Davies in 1871. This may be them. The ages are about right.

Hi Annette, I agree that this looks good for 1871 Census and I have already put it in---I think the missing word could be Foel Gwrachen which is a small area opposite the Plough Inn in Llandegla and they did live in this area before moving to Gwynfryn and then Bwlchgwyn. I have no idea who Mary is at the moment. Thanks a lot- ;D Tom

Hi Annette, Thanks for pointing that out---It makes complete sense as the quarry was on the Horseshoe Pass and I have come across references where they had to go to Llangollen on occasions to get their wages. A few quick alterations now Tom
